* Leonberger Club of Great Britain * * LPN1 Testing - Code of Ethic - Reminder * As advised earlier this year, The LCGB Committee agreed that this change to the Code of Ethics would come fully into effect as of the 1st November 2011. LCGB Code of Ethics: “In accordance with the recommendations of the International Leonberger Union on handling polyneuropathy in relation to breeding it is strongly recommended that all Leonbergers which are to used for breeding are tested for LPN1 gene before any mating and that all matings between Leonbergers should be (N/N) to (N/N) clear to clear, or (N/N) to (D/N) clear to carrier, and that all other combinations are strongly discouraged”. This addition to the LCGB Code of Ethics has now been agreed by the Kennel Club.
